Jewels Muller Journal – Newport, Rhode Island

We arrived at Cape Cod Thousand Trails RV park the night before and decided to make a day trip to Newport, Rhode Island. It is a beautiful city and we especially enjoyed the Cliff Walk along the ocean where there are many mansions.

We stopped in at the Visitor’s center, gathered our information and then had our picnic lunch in the park. We almost always pack food so we don’t have to spend extra on snacks while traveling. We decided to walk to the trail entrance rather than pay for transportation. The town was very busy with tourists and a  music festival.

We noticed that the beach was packed as we spotted our sign for the Cliff Walk.

TJ looked on Zillow as we passed the brown cottage, I know… cottage, right? That is what they call them. Anyway the brown cottage was listed for 21 million dollars. 15 bedrooms. Kind of puts our 320 square feet to shame. Tee hee. We would be so lost in there. I would need a GPS for my home. It would be fun to go in though. I know that you can pay for a tour to go through some of these beautiful homes.

The walk was about 3 1/2 miles. I need to look that up for sure, but I think that is what I remember. Make sure to wear shoes for climbing on the rocks. There is a short time where rocks are the only option. We were all ready to head home and relax after all of that walking in the hot sun. Daddy made Hamburgers and we joined some other families around the campfire and then went to bed.

Julie & family. What a wonderful adventure & great education. Your Mom sends your trips to me so I can see them and I send them to my daughters. Have a great time, wish I were there
